Sorry for the long period in between newsletters. My work kind of
got in the way. Anyway we left Seattle at 5am flew down to LA on
1/30.. We went straight from LAX to the park. And spent the day in
Disneyland. There is an interesting story behind the photo above. My
girl and I were on our way out of the park at about midnight...We
realized we did not get a photo of us 2 together so we stopped at
the Celebrate picture spot on Main Street. We were looking around
for a cast member to take our photo. We saw someone from custodial
pushing a large trash container so we asked him to take our photo.
He tried to take a photo with both of our cameras. Well the flash
did not trigger on either of our cameras so we were messing with our
cameras and the custodial guy said have a good evening and left. . Read

 Onstage Photos Click the image above to take you to thumbnail index. We have added 15 new onstage photos: including 8 photos of Circle D Ranch. This is the working ranch that is backstage that takes care of the animals you see on stage. Technically these should be in our backstage photos. But I wanted everyone to get a chance to see them..We have added 4 photos of Santa's Reindeer Round-up. And a great ariel photo of Alice In Wonderland . ...and lots more!! *Onstage Photos are available to ALL of our Members.*

So
now we are looking for another cast member. Well we walked around
and on the back side of the Celebrate thing we saw a cast member
with the large camera that they use to take photos to sell (Photo
Pass) we ask her to take our photo. My girl goes to hand the lady
our camera the lady puts the strap around her wrist my girl
continues to hold the camera to make sure it does not fall. the
Photo Pass lady says let go of the camera so my girl did. the Photo
Pass lady goes to take her glove off and the strap catches and the
camera falls to the ground. the lens was destroyed along with the
camera no longer able to power on. We give her our second camera and
she takes our photo (the photo below) she tells us to go to City
Hall and make a claim. We do and the Photo Pass lady comes in and
helps us fill out the form. The sad part is we were only able to
recover the expansion memory card from the camera. The photos that
are on the built in card we were unable to recover so far ... We are
still waiting for Disneyland to respond to the damage claim. Next
month I will tell you what the result in the claim was..

In the almost 55 years that Disneyland has been open
and with over 500 million people through the gates only only 2 deaths were
not attributed to the guests actions. We have created a video presenting
the facts for each of these cases.
The first case is from Christmas Eve 1998. Guests were waiting for their first ride of the day on the Sailing Ship Columbia...

I was looking at DLDHistory one day and realizing the huge amount of content that we have that no other site has. The problem is trying to sort through all of it and put together a nice time line of the History of Disneyland. I also watched most of the Disneyland Historical DVD's available, official and unofficial. None of the DVD's seem to have the complete history of Disneyland including backstage photos and information about deaths and injuries rare video clips etc. We are working on creating a full length Disneyland History DVD. The DVD will be a 5-6 hour video covering the full history of Disneyland. Including all attraction openings, parades, deaths, injuries, trivia, backstage photos and lots more. To my knowledge no DVD has ever been created with this type of content. We are now offering previews as we put together the DVD. The previews are low resolution working copies. The voice over has not been added yet. We will add background music and a few more edits. We will add more chapters as they are completed. The table of contents of the DVD will be:
One very unique feature that will be available on our DVD is a quick way to access additional information on DLDHistory.com about an attraction. The final DVD will be a high definition video. We are predicting that the DVD should be complete mid 2010.
