If you are going to the Disneyland Resort, you want to have a wonderful vacation. Smiles on the kids faces, memories to last a lifetime and nothing out of the ordinary happening. Well, that is the perfect vacation and to make sure this happens you need to put safety on your checklist. Here's how to make the best of your vacation while getting the
1. Familiarize the entire family with the Park. Show the kids a map of the park before you arrive and pick a place to return to, if, they get lost. Make sure it is easy to locate. And if you find this to be too terribly difficult, remind the kids to find a security officer to help them. There are plenty of cast members and security who will step up and assist a lost child.
2. Watch out for the car traffic and other people. When the kids get excited at the Disneyland Resort, sometimes they forget to pay attention. It is very important that you remind them not to step out in front of traffic, including large crowds as they could get hurt or lost.
3. Consider bringing two-way walkie talkies or give the kids a cell phone to carry. Again, this brings you to a safe place as you can contact them immediately. Just in case you want to check on them to ease your mind.
4. Bring the right shoes. If you have laced shoes, make sure they are tied to avoid tripping! And if you decide on other types of shoes, make sure they are comfortable and easy to walk in. With everything you want to see in the park, you need to know you can depend on the shoes!
5. Don't leave anything valuable in the strollers. If you saw the sea of strollers, you would know it is easy to even accidentally pick the wrong one, let alone intentionally steal anything. Make sure your stroller is bare and you have your valuables.
6. Don't bring anything valuable into the Disneyland Resort. Of course you want to bring your camera and the kids need their money for gifts, but outside of these things you should leave the rest at the hotel. Things like your child's favorite teddy bear, an ipod and the like. Even if you accidentally leave it in the pouch at the Indiana Jones Attraction, you might not find it again as there are so many people!
7. If you or someone in your family takes medication, consider renting a locker and leaving it in there for safe keeping for the day as you play. This will provide safety on knowing you wont have to leave the park if you lose it.
8. Keep an eye on what your kids eat! If you have food allergies, then you need to be aware of what is in the food you purchase at the park to make sure you don't get sick!
9. Lock your doors at the hotel and your rental car. Of course there is security, but just in case, you need to know you and your family are safe and can sleep soundly. Don't answer the door for strangers (and remind the kids of this as well.)
10. If you have car trouble in the Disneyland Parking structures, make sure you contact the AAA (you can on the phones in the garage) as they provide free assistance to vacationers while at the park. Locking out your keys, a dead battery and other small issues are covered!
