On Aug. 2, Disney Parks Blog announced that Disneyland park will close its Princess Fantasyland Faire at the Fantasyland Theatre on Aug. 12.

Princess Fantasy Faire, a Disney Princess meet-and-greet, will be closed for an extended period of time. When it re-opens in summer 2013, Princess Fantasy Faire will add a "live entertainment experience" to the meet-and-greet in which Disney's focused on fairy-tale heroes and heroines

Princess Fantasy Faire also will be relocated to the site of the Carnation Plaza Gardens near Sleeping Beauty Castle. Carnation Plaza closed on April 30 to prepare for the transition of the stage to a village square called simply Fantasy Faire.

When Fantasy Faire is complete, Disneyland guests will be immersed in a fairy-tale area that includes the Tangled Tower, inspired by the animated film, and opportunities to mingle with Disney Princesses and Princess. Guests can expect to meet characters from such animated movies as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Cinderella," "Sleeping Beauty," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Tangled."

Meanwhile, fans of the swing dancing that used to take place at Carnation Plaza Gardens can still get their jive on. Swing dancing currently takes place Saturday nights at the Westside Stage Downtown Disney District.

Disneyland President George Kalogridis has also promised classic dance and music happenings will return to Disneyland park when the area re-opens as Fantasy Faire.
